Product Description

About the 4 W RGB Laser Module v2 + PSU

This is a new version of the professional 4 W full RGB Laser Module. It is built using brand new laser diodes and high-performance optics.

New mirror mounts are stiff and hold their position for many months. The stress is not applied to the material so they do not change shape or position.

Diodes used in this module:

  • 1 W 520 nm Laser diode
  • 1.8 W 445 nm Laser Diode
  • 2 x 700 mW 638 nm Laser Diode

The dimensions of the module are 115 x 85 mm. It is possible to mount the module on the baseplate using three M4 screws. In this version of the RGB module, the external housing is not included (RGB with housing can be found on our other listing). Total optical power is up to 4000 mW and not less than 3700 mW. Optical beam correction system helped to achieve 1.8 mrad beam at a full angle with minimum power loss.

Using 1 W 520 nm Nichia diode instead of 532 nm DPSS assures a long lifetime of the module and better power stability.

The module is controlled by the professional three-channel driver. Each channel is independently controlled by the analog input of (0 - 5 V). Analog input allows for the modulation of the current flowing through the diode up to 100 kHz.

The module is powered with Mean Well 5.4 A, 7.5 W, 40.5 W Power Supply which is included with the module.

Recommendations and requirements

Modulation inputs can be used as TTL inputs with its logic levels of 0 V and 5 V or as an analog input. Analog modulation means that by using 2.5 V on ANG input you get 50% output power, analogically by using 4 V you get 80% output power, etc.

Protection

The analog input is protected by a 5V1 Zener diode on occasion there appears the voltage higher than 5 V. Despite everything, this input should not be used with higher voltages. The output of the driver is protected by the Schottky diode which doesn't allow the reverse voltage to appear.
