CNC xPro V4 Laser Upgrade - Connection of the CNC Machine and Peripherals
The first step is to physically connect the xPRO V4 CNC controller to the machine, motors, limit switches, and Opt Lasers engraving head. In the diagram below, a universal PLH3D-CNC Adapter is used to connect the laser engraving head. When connecting the motors, please refer to the technical description and parameters from the stepper motors’ instruction manuals. The xPRO V4 CNC Controller’s manual can be found on Spark Concepts web-page and at GgitHub -> Spark-Concepts -> xPro-V4 -> wiki.
Once the peripherals are properly connected, the driver can be connected to the computer. Do not connect the 12-24V power supply yet. The LED will light up to indicate connection to the USB port, but this only indicates connection to the computer.
The next step is to connect a 12-24V DC power supply unit to power the CNC xPRO V4 Controller. The LED pictured below should light up on the controller. The power supply unit is not included in the CNC xPRO V4 kit.
There are three sockets for the external power supply on the CNC xPRO V4 controller board: a socket with a 2.5x5.5mm plug, a terminal block socket, and an ATX socket for connecting a computer power supply.
