X-CARVE WIRING INSTRUCTION

Welcome! Congratulations! You’ve just taken one of your first steps into the world of 3D Laser Engraving! This guide will take you through the steps of installing Opt Laser’s PLH3D 6W engraving laser head onto your X-Carve! We’ve tried to make it as easy as possible to get you from unpacking your parts to engraving. The PLH3D engraving laser head allows you to engrave or cut your designs in a wide variety of materials such as wood, plastic, rubber, foam, cardboard, leather and many more.

LASER MODULES

The following description and pictures refer to whole Opt Lasers’ laser modules line. Differences between modules are specified in the table in Technical data section.

LPLDD 5A

Basic driver for powering laser diodes with the option to adjust maximum output current in the range of 0-5 A, and to modulate the current flowing through the diode with the frequency up to 100kHz.

PLDD 10A

PLDD 10A is a professional pulse driver designed for powering a laser diode. You can adjust parameters such as pulse width, diode current and compliance voltage.

TEC PID 7-25V MAX 20A

This is an advanced TEC controller using a micro processor unit. Thanks to PID algorithm additional heat is not dissipated on the mosfet since driver uses PWM modulation for current controlling.

TO-18 HOUSING MOUNT

TO-18 (5,6mm) laser diode housing made of brass with a 10mm deep M9x0,5 hole for collimating lens. “Cross” shape of the PCB allows you to solder the diode pins in order to prevent them from bending after soldering the wires.
